Equal Measure Arts was founded in 2024 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to make professional studio recording & training programs more accessible to students and under-resourced musicians in Maine, using the facilities of Monaco Studios in Falmouth, and [the square] in Portland.

EMA’s core values are self-empowerment through education, and inclusivity through community collaboration — so that together we can ensure that the diverse voices of our vibrant community are amplified in equal measure.

open-concept by design

Monaco Studios features an open-concept design with a unified control room & live room to blur the lines between producer, engineer, and performer, encouraging an atmosphere of collaboration and learning. the space has been meticulously designed for optimal acoustics without compromising on aesthetics.
a breath of fresh air

before we opened Monaco Studios, we had spent plenty of time in sterile, windowless studio spaces, and found it stifling to the creative process. here in our corner of West Falmouth, you are surrounded by natural light, woods with walking trails, and a cozy farmhouse atmosphere—giving your session the feel of an artist retreat.
sound all around

beyond our open-concept live room, we have a cozy iso booth perfect for vocalists… and we even have wired inputs in our mudroom and second floor space, both of which offer excellent natural reverb, so you can spread out and get creative while tracking up to 24 channels simultaneously on our API console!

with a 49-panel array that has saved over 126,000 lbs. of CO2 emissions to-date, you can spend as much time as you need perfecting your next project here without worrying about your carbon footprint. (read more about it on the ReVision Energy blog!)
kid-friendly/students welcome!

as parents of two musically-inclined children, we are happy to welcome your little ones into our studio too! we are passionate about working with budding musicians of all ages, and are pleased to be able to offer subsidized student rates through our nonprofit — don’t hesitate to apply via Equal Measure Arts!
